In Mozambique, the national government’s Agriculture Promotion Centre said that Procana and Principle Energy are investing $710 million in the production of ethanol from sugar cane. The government approved an 30,000 hectare land grant to Procana in Gaza province and an 18,000 hectare grant in Manica province to Principle. The projects are slated to produce between 220 and 400 Mgy of sugar cane ethanol and create up to 10,000 agricultural and energy jobs.
