Hey, thanks for posting the link to that article… that’s really interesting, I sort of always assumed the answer was to simply plant trees. I wrote grant-proposals last summer for this group called Eden Reforestation Projects - basically ALL they do is set up nurseries so the locals can try and reverse deforestation effects by planting trees (here’re videos on how/what they do it - http://www.edenprojecte.org/media). I think they’re getting into carbon credits, but now I wonder how much is really changed when planting trees, ya know? I mean, reforestation can not only bring back fertile ground and wild life and stuff, but supposedly it reverses desertification, too.
