The U.S. Grains Council announced that distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) exports rose 6 percent in the early 2009 compared to 2008, from 598,000 tons to 634,000 tons for January and February. For all of 2008, the US exported 4.51 million tons of DDGS, up from 2.36 million tons in 2007, primarily to Mexico, Canada and Turkey.
